REFLECTION TWO
Takeaway from Lesson Two
On second day we learned about Interactive and Engaging to promote Learning.
We learned that learning should be interactive because of the following reasons:
As it:1) enhance student engagement
2) foster deeper understanding of the concepts
3) enhance critical and problem-solving skills
4) facilitates active learning
5) Flexible learning
Technology also helps us to design Asynchronous and Synchronous teaching approach. Where teaching allows student to learn at their own pace, accommodating different schedules and learning speeds. It also helps to provide real-time interaction, fostering immediate feedback and clarification.
Tools such as near-pod, blog, YouTube, Slido, ScreenPal can be used to create interactive and engaging learning environment.
Slido has significantly transformed the teaching and learning experience by introducing an interactive and engaging platform that fosters deeper understanding in the classroom. Reflecting on its functionality and applications, I recognize its immense potential to create a dynamic and student-centered learning environment.
One of Slido’s standout features is its ability to crowdsource questions and facilitate meaningful discussions. This capability aligns seamlessly with the principles of active learning, allowing educators to gauge students' prior knowledge and adapt teaching strategies accordingly. By integrating live polls and Q&A sessions, Slido encourages active participation and ensures that lessons are both relevant and tailored to meet the diverse needs of learners.
What sets Slido apart is its dual role as a tool for engagement and a bridge connecting teaching goals with student needs. It transforms traditional lectures into interactive experiences, ensuring that students remain focused and involved throughout the learning process.
Reflecting on its potential, I am inspired to explore more innovative ways to incorporate technology like Slido into my teaching methodologies. Its ability to make learning more interactive, adaptive, and impactful reinforces the importance of leveraging modern tools to enhance both teaching and student engagement.
Blog
Blogging has emerged as a powerful platform that offers numerous advantages for both students and educators, fostering skill development and professional growth. This lesson provided invaluable insights into the potential of blogging as a dynamic space for learning and collaboration.
This lesson was particularly beneficial as it guided me through the process of creating a blog. I learned to design engaging posts by incorporating multimedia elements such as pictures, videos, links, and even embedding YouTube content. These features enable the creation of an interactive teaching and learning environment that resonates with today’s digitally savvy learners.
Overall, the experience of creating a blog has inspired me to explore its potential further, making education more engaging, collaborative, and effective for all stakeholders.
